With over two decades of experience, Despina has made a profound impact through her innovative training solutions, leadership roles, and mentoring programs, helping businesses and professionals unlock their full potential.
Despina’s expertise spans tourism operations, customer service, social media strategy, and content marketing development. As the founder of the Institute of Excellence, she is committed to empowering small business owners, entrepreneurs, and tourism professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world. The Institute of Tourism and Institute of Small Business, which she established in 2014, reflect her passion for shaping professionals through hands-on, practical training.
A Certified Trainer, business coach, and author of the book Adventures of a Balloon Girl, Despina brings her personal journey of entrepreneurial growth to the forefront of her programs. Her former leadership roles as Chief Navigator of Navii Digital and Tourism Tribe and CEO of Global Ballooning Australia further demonstrate her expertise in both business operations and tourism strategy. Her contributions to the field were celebrated when she was awarded the Outstanding Contribution by an Individual at the 2022 Victorian Tourism Awards.
Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Digital and Social Media, Despina continues to evolve her expertise, ensuring her clients receive cutting-edge insights and strategies. In addition to her training and mentoring work, she is a host of social media events, podcast presenter on the Tourism Hub, and a regular live broadcaster, sharing best practices and inspirational stories from the tourism industry.
