Last week I did something that was never NLP on my radar nor did I think was even possible for me. I completed and handed over to my publisher the first manuscript of my new book “Adventures of a Balloon Girl” for editing. When someone says to you, “You should write a book about that”, you don’t actually take it seriously. The first time anyway. To help me commit to the task and make my decision when this question was posed to me four months ago I asked myself one simple question: Can I add value to other small businesses and tourism professionals? The answer was clear -YES – and the book came into fruition.
I always say to my clients ‘get comfortable with being uncomfortable’, after all embracing the unknown is where magic happens. Walking my talk this is about as unknown as I can get as I explore uncharted territory becoming an author. Fear has come up and so has my fears best friend, self doubt. My self doubt friend I have named Sebastian, after self sabotage. To combat I go back to my purpose and intention of service and adding value, after all this book is not for me its for our community of small business and tourism professionals. Warts and all, the thriving small business community in many industries is incredibly important to our economy and this is where the focus lies. Sharing my journey over the last decade managing thriving small tourism business, Global Ballooning, I want nothing more than for the reader to gain a truckload of value from reading insights and practical tools that can be instantly applied. It gives me great pleasure to see businesses and individuals flourish and want you to thrive in your own small business or career so that we can continue to learn, grow, share and take massive action together.
